1. Revision of old ICOLD Bulletins: Reservoir basin survey techniques to determine sedimentation (latest technology in underwater bethymetry surveys and data analysis. A new bulletin should be prepared on survey techniques including the following possible aspects: ADCP measurement and bed profiling in the reservoir, sediment coring, sediment density, bathymetric survey using sinar and GPS systems, frequency of surveys and data interpretation.
2.  Management of sedimentation problems at run-of-river hydropower and diversion/abstraction works. Design and operation to limit sediment diversion and to conserve the reservoir storage capacity. This could include cascade systems, with the need of flushing of the bed load required for the downstream river ecology, especially in Europe. It could also include high head hydropower schemes such as in the Indian Himalayas where excessive turbine damage is experienced.
3.  Design and operation of sediment flushing outlets at dams. Hydraulics and sediment dynamics. Size of gates, height, number, position relative to intakes, sediment characteristics, local and general scour effects, operation, pressure flushing (sluicing) and free flow flushing.
